This week the siding was put up and the scratch coat was applied to the areas where the brick will (hopefully soon?) be added. As the next two photos show, we have quite a mess in our yard. The plywood that is leaning against the wall of the house is protecting some exposed basement plumbing holes from rain. It's been more than a month since these holes were drilled through our basement walls and every time it rains, we risk a river of muddy water washing into our basement.
Our landscape guy wants to get started on the yard but can't do so until the exterior of the house is finished. Look at the huge disaster area with scattered debris everywhere. It seems like all of the sub-contractors want to have unobstructed access to the house with perfect, pristine, weather conditions but I can look at these photos and understand why he doesn't want to start until the siding and brick are up and the yard is somewhat dry. Not sure we'll have that luxury but I can certainly see why he's holding out for those conditions!
