The kitchen perimeter cabinets are up and ready for granite! The colors are deceptive in this photo because the walls look pale yellow and, actually, they're the color of the drywall mud and haven't been painted at all.
Same color cabinets in the laundry room.
Here's the brickon the right side of the garage. It's coming along nicely and we're very happy with the color! When it's closer to completion, I'll try to get a photo that shows more of the front of the house but it's hard to do that now because of the trees and construction fence that block most of the view from the front.

master bath shower and floor tile
Crema Marfil marble in several of its glorious forms! The shower side walls are solid slab and the back wall is a mosaic. The shower pan is a 2" x 2" tile and the floor is a 14" tile (about 8 inches wide) with a 12" long decorative border and a 5/8" solid square mosaic filler. The exact placement of the decorative border and mosaic was adjusted to conform to, as closely as possible, the various contours (doors and cabinets) of the bathroom. It took several hours to lay it all out but the end result was perfection! Kudos to Salvador, Sergio and Antonio for their attention to detail and to all of Ismael's crew at Marble Masters for making our master bathroom so beautiful!

Kitty condo
We're very excited about this since it took so much of our time and attention. But it's finally starting to really come together! After the stucco is applied to the whole thing, our vision will be much more clear. :)
Rosenquist foyer door
The exterior of our beautiful foyer door. It's Knotty Alder on the inside and Mahogany on the outside. The stucco molding is being installed. That's the piece of trim that the stucco dies into. An amazing one-of-a-kind door made especially for us by David.

The Exterior (as of 1/11/13)
Well, here's the exterior as of today. It's changed substantially since my last exterior shot (November 9, 2012) but it's presented a pretty unimpressive photo op so I kept waiting for the aesthetics to improve before taking any photos. However, since it's Friday and so many people are bugging me for updated pics, I pulled out my iPhone and snapped a few. Happy?
This week the siding was put up and the scratch coat was applied to the areas where the brick will (hopefully soon?) be added. As the next two photos show, we have quite a mess in our yard. The plywood that is leaning against the wall of the house is protecting some exposed basement plumbing holes from rain. It's been more than a month since these holes were drilled through our basement walls and every time it rains, we risk a river of muddy water washing into our basement.
Our landscape guy wants to get started on the yard but can't do so until the exterior of the house is finished. Look at the huge disaster area with scattered debris everywhere. It seems like all of the sub-contractors want to have unobstructed access to the house with perfect, pristine, weather conditions but I can look at these photos and understand why he doesn't want to start until the siding and brick are up and the yard is somewhat dry. Not sure we'll have that luxury but I can certainly see why he's holding out for those conditions!

Even with the mess, I'm still very excited when I look at these photos because our incredibly lovely house is really starting to look like "our" house.

From another angle, more debris, mountains of stucco-sand and ugly scaffolds and messy, wet, clumps of dirt! Ugh! More pics soon!
Foyer Door Arrived
Our beautiful foyer door (made especially for us by David Rosenquist) arrived yesterday. I took this photo with my iphone so it really doesn't do it justice but you can still see how lovely it is!
